B.S. National Wood Bound Queen Excluder
We use the same great Metal Excluder as above, but replace the metal frame with one made of wood providing the recommended bee space.
The quality of this product is good and value for money.
This is a good quality metal queen excluder with a good quality surround albeit softwood. The only major downside is that the bee space is on both sides rather than just one - either top bee space or bottom bee space. The bees consequently build brace comb between the to boxes. This is not easily remedied as it would mean taking the frame off - and re-doing it. Maybe the all metal one would be better? 7/10
Replacing a plastic QE. Much easier to remove. No longer flicking bees in all directions.
Not in the description but bee space on these are on BOTH sides. Assume that this will result in more than usual brace comb build up on the top where there will be double bee space (as my hives are bottom bee space). Not tried them yet to know...
