8 Frame Langstroth Brood Box, Flat, Pine
Our boxes are cut and then graded based on wood quality and quality of the cuts.
1st Grade are our highest quality boxes, with little to no knots.
Our 2nd grade boxes have some small knots in the body, not the joins, and anything less is rejected.
Good quality, few knots only problem l had was some of the mortice joints don't line up perfectly so you need a sharp chisel and a hacksaw blade to shave off a small amount of wood. I still think that for the money l paid they are good value. Given that bees will live happily in a hollow tree or chimney l guess it is down to you as the customer to decide if they are for you. The bees arn't going to worry and l am happy to do some basic finishing to a good product.
Perfect thanks, nothing wrong with these boxes for seconds, seen far worse than these
A good value-for-money product - easy to put together.
I ordered 2nd grade to save in cost and upon arrival I was really impressed. In fact it is far superior to a top grade cedar hive I have. Will certainly order more in the future.
